Kids Friendly Curd Recipes
When it comes to giving healthy foods to kids, every Mom knows the pain. Especially during evening snacks or after-school snacks it’s a battle to tempt the little one with a bowl full of nutrition. Moreover to keep them away from unhealthy and sugary stuffs like ice cream, candies etc it’s essential to be ready with some delightful options the kids will like to have. Here are some creative ways to add in the creamy goodness of curd into your family's next meal. Their tummies and taste buds will rejoice.
Dahi Poha
Ingredients
- Poha/Chura - 1 cup
- Purabi Curd - 2 cups
- Veggies: Grated carrot and Chopped cucumber - 2 tbsp each
- Salt - as required
- Sugar- 1 teaspoon
To Temper:
- Ghee- 1 tsp
- Jeera/cumin seeds - ½ tsp
- Curry leaves - few
- Astofedia/ Hing - a pinch
Instructions
- Soak poha in water and keep it ready for use.
- Keep curd and other ingredients ready as well.
- Heat ghee in a tadka pan, add cumin seeds, curry leaves and hing. Switch it off once done. Set aside. Now add the curd to soaked poha and mix.
- Now add grated carrots and chopped cucumber and mix Finally, add the tempered items to the curd poha mix.
- Mix well and serve.
Fruity Parfait
Ingredients
- 1 cup Purabi plain curd
- 1-2 tablespoons raw honey
- 1/2 cup freshly cut apples
- 1/2 cup fresh strawberries/raspberries
- 1 kiwi peeled and chopped
- 1/4 cup dry fruits
Instructions
- Put curd into glasses, then drizzle with a teaspoon of honey.
- Sprinkle some of the fruits and nuts over the curd,
- Again top with another 1/4 cup of curd and drizzle with more honey.
- Sprinkle the remaining fruit and nuts and drizzle with additional honey if desired.
