A rainy Saturday evening calls for two things; a good cup of chai and some fried, crisp goodies! Isn’t it? Well we read your mind and that’s why here are two very easy and common snacks idea made with paneer which can easily transform your weekend evenings into a magical experience. Call your good friends over a cup of chai and cherish your good-old-memories with the hot cuppa and some delicious fries. Recipes given below.

Crispy Paneer Bite

Ingredients

  • 200 grams Purabi Paneer, (cube/bite size)
  • 1 teaspoon Red Chilli Powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tablespoon Cornflour
  • 2 tablespoons All-purpose Flour (Maida)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper Powder
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs
  • Oil for shallow frying

Method

  • Take a bowl and add paneer, red chilli powder and salt. Mix well and let it sit for 10mins.
  • In another bowl, mix cornflour, flour, salt, black pepper with some water and make a thick paste.
  • Dip paneer pieces one by one in the paste and cover it with breadcrumbs and keep aside
  • Now shallow fry the paneer pieces until they are golden in a non-stick pan.
  • Strain the extra oil and pat dry with tissue papers.

Quick Paneer Tikka

Ingredients:

  • Purabi Paneer (cut into cubes or small squares)
  • Bell Pepper/ Capsicum (cut into cubes)
  • Oil for frying

For Marination:

  • 2 tsp Purabi curd
  • 1 to 2 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 2 tsp besan
  • Powder Spices: turmeric, red chili, cumin, garam masala, chat masala, coriander ( 1/2 tsp each)
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • Salt

Method

  • Mix all the ingredients listed under marination. Add paneer and bell pepper to this mixture and coat well with hand.
  • Rest for 15 minutes
  • Heat oil for frying.
  • Now shallow fry paneer cubes and capsicum cubes in batches into medium heat.
  • Drain on kitchen paper napkins.

 Voila! Serve these deliciously tempting and crunchy snacks hot with your favourite chai!
